I’m such a sucker for the 80’s and of course Weekend At Bernies is one of my favorite Movies from that era. I have no idea how many times I’ve watched it from beginning to end but it’s a lot and I still leave it on every time I happen to find it playing on any given channel. I only recently just found out that it wasn’t filmed on Long Island at all but in North Carolina. How crazy is that ? Looked very convincing that it was in the Hamptons. I was born and raised on Long Island and have been to the Hamptons many times and always kept my eyes peeled for Bernies House. Now I know why I never found it lol. I now live in North Carolina where the movie was actually filmed but I can’t even go visit the house because I just read they tore the house down after filming was completed. Oh Well !! I do have a question though. Throughout filming of Weekend At Bernies was that really Terry Kiser being dragged around by Jonathan and Andrew the whole time ? Or was it a dummy ? I would imagine it would be kinda exhausting and a real pain in the butt to drag and carry around another human being for an entire movie shooting ? Was that really him lying on the floor while they were vacuuming sand off of his face ? I’ve wondered these things throughout my life and would love to know. Hopefully I’ll get a response some day. 🙂

Thanks for your note and kind words about WaB and Terry’s work on the film. In many of the scenes that involved physicality such as dragging around, etc., that was really Terry being manipulated and in fact, he suffered a vertebrae injury to his back and neck in one of the scenes. They really roughed him up a bit in that film and experience, but he was adamant about being as “real” as possible for the stunts.

Hi Mr Kiser,
Big fan, loved Weekend at Bernies! All time great classic!
I am born and raised in Omaha. My Dad who I lost 5yrs ago, was born in 1938. Just curious if you could share your time here in Omaha. Schools, etc.
Thank you for your years of acting! God Bless

Rock Chalk Terry. I’ve enjoyed your work for years. I met and talked with you once in Vegas and you couldn’t have been more gracious. Stay well fellow Jayhawk.

Hey I’m a big fan of Weekend at Bernies. Especially the second film. I would love to see you all get back together for a third and final film.

With all of these sequels years later it would be fantastic.

Bill and Ted 3 did fine. I think Weekend at Bernies 3 would be awesome! I might even start a fan page for it!

Please contact me back.

There has often been a call for a 3rd film, although nothing has been set in stone, we never rule out the possibility. A script had been written at one point, but it was discarded some time later, so at the present time there is no plan for a WaB3.

Unfortunately, no. Too many of these items over the years have turned up later for sale on sites such as e-bay, etc., so Terry no longer signs items sent requesting autographs. The best bet would be to try to catch him at one of the many Comic-Cons that Terry participates in, take the DVD, and ask him to sign it there, or get a photo there at the event.

Hi Terry, it looks like you’ve got a great person running your site. And if this could get passed along to you I’d greatly appreciate it.
I just wanted to share a memory that reoccurs quite often thankfully; and that’s due to the wonderful world of syndication on tv. And that memory is you on Three’s Company. I know you were on a few different episodes as different characters, but your role as the jealous boyfriend Max was a scream. I don’t know if you can answer this thru here, but Im curious to know if you were ever close to John Ritter? You guys play off each other like old friends in those episodes. I miss him tremendously, and just thought I’d see if you had some memories of him to share.
Thanks
My very best

I may have Terry’s grandparents letters. They are from correspondences summer to fall of 1904. Garth Kiser to Jennie Trenary. Would love to get them to Terry if they are indeed his grandparents.

i’m sending you an email directly from your user information. Thanks for the note!
